If you’re an avid photographer or if the weather is nice, there are several viewpoints at each of the stops that are worth checking out. In total, the tour includes about 2 hours and 45 minutes of driving.

Geysir Geothermal Area is a significant site. In fact, we get the English word ‘geyser’ from the name of this famous erupting hot-water vent, which was the first to be discovered. The great Geysir no longer erupts, but nearby Strokkur sends plumes of hot water and steam into the air every 5-7 minutes.
