Laugabúð Shop

Step back in time

An especially charming shop located in one of the country’s oldest commercial buildings, selling olden days sweets, candies, post- and gift-cards depicting views of Eyrabakki and its environs. For the curious, check out the handmade soaps, woolen goods and books about the region. Open weekends in the summer.

The house was built in 1919 and was operated by shopkeeper Guðlaugur Pálsson. The name Laugabúð means Laugi’s Shop, and it has been restored and preserved much as he himself kept it for the 80 years he ran it.
